Scales Vendor 利和秤號

Scales Vendor 利和秤號 captures the Lee Wo Scale Shop on Shanghai Street, Yau Ma Tei, and its owner, Mrs. Ho, who inherited the scale shop, and the craft of scale-making, from her late father. From the hawkers you see in street markets, to the medicine scales used for weighing Chinese medicine ingredients, to the flavour scales used in home kitchens, Lee Wo Scale Shop has preserved the craft since it was established in the 1930s. In the face of declining demand, Mrs. Ho continues to operate the shop, driven by a deep determination to safeguard this part of Hong Kong's cultural heritage.
 
50% of profits go towards Equal Justice. 20% go towards the Pangolin Fund, which donates directly to or subsidises passive income projects for local registered charities.
